Mechanical
This, like the last plant and everything on this website, is not unstoppable. There are many methods to consider getting rid of these plants.You could get rid of them mechanically by using chainsaws to get rid of large infestations, however is impractical to do so without breaking the roots and thorns(13). If chainsaws are used, use them wisely(13).
Fire
You will quickly learn that to get rid of fauna, fire is a very very useful option in getting rid of invasive plants like this one. Fire is also an option for killing the stems and seedlings, but the older plants will most likely resprout from roots(13). Prescribed fire would may also allow easier treatment of plants with herbicides by removing the thorny growth of the plant(13).
